Piperpal User Manual
Piperpal Location Intelligence, www.piperpal.com
Draft note: Piperpal's page is a JavaScript app with almost no readable documentation, so this manual is built from the interface labels visible on the site. Items marked (verify) are inferred from a label and should be checked against the live app before you publish this manual.
1. What Piperpal is
Piperpal is a browser-based editor for writing short web content that is linked to real places. You write text, mark place names in it, and Piperpal shows the matching locations on an OpenStreetMap-based map, with nearby photos from Wikimedia Commons. When you are done, you publish the result as an HTML page that you can copy or download.
Piperpal also offers location-based advertising ("Piperpal Location Intelligence Ads"), which can be bought through a link on the page.
2. Getting started
- Open www.piperpal.com in any modern browser. No installation is shown or needed.
- Start typing in the editor area. The Words and Characters count
ers update as you write. - Your work is saved automatically in this browser only. The status line reads Not saved yet until the first save, and then shows the size of your document in KB in WebStorage.
Important: Because storage is local to the browser, clearing browsing data, switching browsers or switching devices will lose your draft. Use Download .html regularly to keep a copy.
